What did I learn that could be used with my learners, how could they use it?
Today's session on Google Forms made me think of how I can use it in the classroom with New Entrants. Some ideas that are swirling around in my head are using it for reading comprehension / clozed question activities. Using more picture cues and multichoice questions where the students can look at the picture and sentence and chose what the missing word is from a multi chose selection.
Using Google maps in the classroom could also be an interesting activity and I can see it being used as part of getting to know each other... identifying where everybody is from, where our iwi are and our marae. Using Google maps to track our travels while on camp - both locally and while on our overseas trips.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
Discovering and understanding the some of the features in Google Sheets is going to be a game changer and make life a lot simpler. Like in other areas of Google, I have been reluctant to use Sheets as I am really familiar with Excel and how to format and manipulate data. Today's session is going to help me make the change over to using Sheets on a more regular basis.
