MIT 2025 - MOONSHOT PROPSAL

What an exciting opportunity it is to be part of the 2025 MIT cohort! I look forward to honing in on the problems identified in my proposal, working through the process, coming to a solution and then creating a prototype to help overcome the issues identified.

Our first project is to create a Moonshot Proposal relating to our project. A Moonshot Proposal is a bold, ambitious idea designed to create transformative change rather than small, incremental improvements.

Feel free to peruse mine here below:

In this Moonshot Proposal, we were asked to:
  • Identify the challenge impacting achievement that I've identified to focus on in 2025 through the MIT design thinking process
  • Identify who is it a problem for?  Who is the main group experiencing this challenge?
  • Give evidence as to how I know it is a problem?
  • Give my initial proposal - detailing what I could do about it
  • Give details of another proposal - different from the first
  • Identify how technology could be used to support my proposal
Next, we were paired up with another person to ask 5 WHY questions about their proposal and with each ‘why,’ we would dig deeper into the problem. The process ensured we didn’t jump straight to solutions without fully understanding the cause.

The next steps from our Moonshot Proposal will be to delve deeper in to the 'why', the 'who' and 'how might we...' during our meet up at Kūaotunu in early March.  Looking forward to it!
